Daily News is an English-language newspaper that is published every weekday afternoon in Durban, South Africa. It is a member of Independent News & Media SA, one of the country’s leading multi-platform content companies.

Founded in 1919 by Joseph Medill Patterson, it was the first U.S. daily printed in tabloid format and is still widely read by a wide audience. The Daily News covers a wide range of topics, including news, sports, entertainment, classified ads, comics, and an opinion section.

The Daily News also publishes an annual magazine and a Friday supplement, WEEKEND. It has a circulation of 2.4 million copies, and as of 2019[update] was the eleventh-highest-circulated newspaper in the United States.
