The Yale Daily News (YDN) is a student newspaper founded on January 28, 1878. It is the oldest college daily newspaper in the United States. YDN is independently owned and editorially independent, publishing every weekday during the academic year for the benefit of the campus community at Yale University and New Haven. YDN has a rich history of producing distinguished alumni in the fields of journalism, politics and public service. In addition to its intense city news coverage, the paper has always included celebrity gossip, classified ads, comics, and a sports section.
