Law new is a term that many legal firms are using to describe their new methods of practice. These practices can help to improve client satisfaction and allow for a more varied form of legal services. This bill would require City agencies to provide employees and job applicants with notice regarding federal and state student loan forgiveness programs. The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) would prepare the notice in consultation with other relevant City departments, agencies, and offices.
New York’s colleges will be safer from bias-related and hate crimes in the new year, thanks to legislation aimed at protecting students. This bill would amend the definition of “bias-related crime” to include any bias-motivated crime committed by a student against another person or entity on the basis of the victim’s race, gender, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or age.
The City will be more prepared to handle a data breach thanks to a new law aimed at reducing the chance of identity theft and other serious consequences for affected individuals. Under Matthew’s Law, the City will be able to immediately make public any security breaches that affect private information of City residents.
